I’m a 5th Generation Cape Girardeau resident, a proud 1996 Cape Central graduate, and a 2002 SEMO graduate (major in Public Relations, minor in Political Science). I am a Senior Vice President and Market President with MRV Banks - I’ve volunteered my time on boards such as Southeast Missouri Regional Economic Development Inc. (SEMO REDI), Gibson Center for Behavioral Health, Mercy College of Nursing and Health Sciences. I was president of the Cape Jaycees, as well as a proud Past President and current member of the Cape Girardeau Lions Club.

I was a City Council Member from 2016 - 2024 - and have served on the Planning and Zoning Commission from 2024 - present. During my time on the council we increased pay and provided better job security for Cape Girardeau Police and City Staff; we implemented Shot Spotter, passed the very important Internet Use (ie: LOCAL sales) Tax issue.

My wife Carrie and I have two daughters, Morgan and Claire.

I was privileged to serve as a City Council member for 8 years (2 years as Mayor Pro Tem) – and I remain a member of the Planning and Zoning Commission. I am a lifetime Cape citizen, a local bank president – and am deeply committed to serving our city.

I purposely maintain an aversion to the 'status quo', and in 2022 championed the concept of a Real-Time Crime Center for Cape. I am proud to be supported by Cape Girardeau County Prosecutor Mark Welker (2025 Missouri Prosecutor of the Year!).

To restore trust I will insist on much more transparency between City Hall and the community. The water issue was a debacle, and some of the street repairs had citizens driving in circles. The eventual progress is great, but we need to do a much better job at coordinating efforts.
