winning as a community doesn’t just happen. It takes commitment, collaboration and strong communication.

I want to look at every area of City operations through a perspective of tough, transparent and trustworthy. From supporting our Police Department with technology, to promoting Economic Development thru collaboration with job creators, to better communication with citizens, even when addressing hard issues. I’m committed to being a visible, accessible, straightforward and fair-minded Mayor.

I want to make it very uncomfortable for criminals to live and operate in Cape.

Scrutinize the allocation of funds and enlist community support to add 15 new police officers over the next 5 years. Utilize more technology and work closely with our Chief and prosecutor for local solutions - and our State and Governor to fund the $5M Real-Time Crime Center (RTCC). Do more warrant round ups, deploy more cameras (will feed to the RTCC) and work with landlords - but better enforce existing ordinances.

tough

transparent

Our council meetings have shrunk to where they're averaging under 25 minutes per.

When I first heard that I thought it can't be true. But I checked it out, and it is. When I was on the council with Mayor Rediger, we spent at least a full hour in study sessions each week. And we took the time to listen to the community, to have dialogue and debate, to make decisions and explain our reasoning.

Our citizens deserve to be heard. Our Fire Department cannot go on indefinitely without a (fair for them AND Taxpayers) agreement. We must communicate better!

trustworthy

We need to rebuild trust between City Hall and the community.

Don't get me wrong. We have some wonderful people serving our community - especially on the council. But there seems to be a gap. Now that the water debacle is finally resolved, we can move forward together. But trust requires authentic and consistent communication and occasionally working thru tough situations face to face - with honesty and candor.

We have so many positive attributes! So much potential! People understand give and take, but leadership needs to be front and center, take responsibility and be accessible!
